About Us

Lauren Keller Galit spent 10 years in the magazine industry before becoming a literary agent. She started her career at Gentleman’s Quarterly (as the assistant to David Granger, now editor in chief at Esquire). She worked at Good Housekeeping as a senior editor, at Mode Magazine as a deputy editor, and at Trump Style as editor in chief. She made the switch to books in order to keep working with writers but on a more in-depth, more prolonged basis. She learned the trade under the tutelage of John Boswell, a packager and agent with more than 25 years experience. While at John Boswell, she assisted in the sales of WOMEN MAKE THE BEST SALESMEN by Marion Luna Brem, NEVER EAT ALONE by Keith Ferrazzi (a Wall Street Journal best seller), THE DYSFUCNTIONAL FAMILY CHRISTMAS SONGBOOK by John Boswell and Lenore Skenazy, and A DOG’S NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS and A CAT’S NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS both by Henry Beard, among others. As a full-fledged agent at John Boswell Associates, she sold HAIKU U. by David Bader, THE GREAT AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP QUIZ by Sol Skolnick, and most notably, DRESS YOUR BEST by Clinton Kelly and Stacy London, the hosts of TLC’s hit show, “What Not to Wear,” among others.Lauren left John Boswell Associates to pursue projects on subjects closer to her interests, including books on fashion, style, and beauty, parenting, relationships, weddings, and other non-fiction topics, as well as narratives and memoirs. Since founding the LKG Agency, Lauren has sold LANCE IN FRANCE by Ashley MacEachern (with Lance Armstrong authorizing the book and a portion of the proceeds being donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation) to Harper Collins Books for Children, THE FIVE-MINUTE FACE by Carmindy, Makeup Host of TLC’s “What Not to Wear” to Regan Books, and SOMETHING NEW: Wedding Etiquette for Rulebreakers, Traditionalists, and Everyone in Between by Elise MacAdam to Simon Spotlight Entertainment.Because of Lauren’s years of experience in the magazine world, the LKG Agency is particularly adept at working with magazine writers and guiding them in the book business.
